VNG to Deliver Pil and Bue Development Plan

VNG Norge, an exploration and production company from Norway, has submitted a proposed program for impact assessment for development and operation of the Pil & Bue project in the Norwegian Sea. The company plans to deliver a development plan in 2017.

VNG Norge is the operator of the Pil & Bue discoveries proven in production license 586 in the blocks 6406/11 and 12 in the Norwegian Sea. The exploration campaign was done with the Transocean Arctic drilling rig and it was completed in July 2014.

According to VNG, the licensees of the discoveries, VNG Norge (30%), Spike Exploration Holding (30%), Faroe Petroleum Norge (25%) and Pure E&P Norway (15%) plan to develop these discoveries and aim to deliver a plan for development and operation to the authorities in spring 2017.

As stipulated in the Petroleum Act, an impact assessment program must be prepared before development can take place, VNG said.

On behalf of the licensees, VNG Norge submitted a proposed program for impact assessment for development and operation of the Pil & Bue project. The proposal presents alternative development scenarios, schedules and topics that will be studied further in the impact assessment itself.

VNG added that the proposed program was submitted for public consultation with the relevant authorities, in accordance with the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. The deadline is set to 12 weeks.
